Hippiness meets hoppiness in this dank near brew.
Two Roots Brewing Company’s Straight Drank West Coast IPA is hoppy and buddy, brewed with sticky icky Eureka! and Comet hops, not to mention Jetty Extracts’ botanically derived terpenes.
There’s no Cannabis or THC in this particular retail-available near beer, you’ll have to check out their cannabis line for that. But it tastes reminiscent of a Canninfused brew.
TwoRoots and Lagunitas are among the envelope-pushing craft brewers that have played in both the cannabis and nonalcohol craft brew space, so expect more of these weedy brews to hit the shelves in coming months.
In terms of this Straight West Coast IPA, it stands alone with or without the weed. Most all of Two Roots’ beers are stellar, particularly their IPAs.
But this one is on a higher level, taking bronze at the 2020 Great American Beer Festival.
We’ve been getting a lot of questions of late about IPAs we’d recommend, and this one’s definitely on the short list due to its hippiness and hoppiness. Mango Dango and New West are right up there as well. Just depends on the flavor of the month you’re seeking.
